How to Survive College Dorm Life

Many college students prefer staying in the dorm. It happens mostly to new students who are not familiar with the environment. It is also a good option because it is cheaper compared to staying outside the school. Staying in a dorm can change your life in many ways. You can either love or hate it when you give it a try. Here are the tips from my online class helpers to follow;

Let it be in Your Possession

A dorm is not a big room. It is a space that mostly fits your bed and a few other things. The first time you step into your room, there is a huge possibility you will not like it. It will be small and ordinary. There is always a way to make things better. If you are someone who is into decors, you can try it out. There are no rules that forbid anyone from decorating his/her room. You can use that opportunity to use your skills. After making it look perfect, you will not picture it as before. It will be one of your happy places.

Maintain Warmth

Do not feel all alone in your room. You can always use some company. Ask over your friends and make them warm your room while you have fun. You will feel safe and will have nothing to worry about you. Do not bring many people into the room when your dorm mates are present. It will make them uncomfortable and irritated. Make sure that you do not interfere with anyone’s comfort.

Schedule of Housekeeping

When you are staying in the dorm, you have to ensure that you do not wake up late. You can do your things early then later relax. Learn how to speak up when something is wrong, or you need assistance. Your fellow mates will be ready and willing to help you. For people to have your back, your attitude has to be on point.

Town Tour

Get bored in the dorm with nothing to do. When you finish arranging your stuff the way you want, it is time for you to know the place. Do not be a scared top walk around and visit different parts of the town. You might love the site more and have a good mood. It is also advisable to know the places before serious studies commence. You can also have a chance to spot an opportunity that interests you and later ask for employment.

Look After Your Things

Since most of the dorms are shared, make sure you take care of your things. No one should take anything that belongs to you without borrowing. Put that rule to your roommates. It is good to respect other people’s belongings. If you keep quiet, your things will get lost one after the other. You will have to spend money for the second time. There are personal things that should remain untouched by other mates.

No Burning of Bridges

The best way of surviving in college in college is to avoid trouble with people. Do not start any arguments or talk about people. Make sure you live your life without stepping on anyone. The more you are a remarkable person, the more people you attract. People want to be close to someone who minds his/her business without getting in the way of others.
