The way that you start off your morning is indicative of how the rest of your day will go. That’s why a well-structured and well-thought-out morning routine can totally change your life. A great morning routine can boost your productivity, improve your mood, and even improve your happiness and overall well-being.
Whether you’re over the age of 70 or just starting college, most people can agree they want to make the most out of each day rather than being in a bad mood or in a rush. If you’re looking for ways to start your day off on the right foot, here are some simple yet powerful ways to try out.
Wake Up Early
Statistics show that the early bird truly does get the worm. People who wake up earlier don’t just get more done, but they also find themselves in a pattern mood, and more likely to feel good about what they’ve accomplished. Initially, waking up early may seem impossible, especially if it’s something you’re not used to.
However, you can think of waking up like a muscle. The more you work your muscles and practice waking up early, the easier it’ll get over time. Just be sure that when you set your alarm, try to get up as soon as you hear it.
Instead of allowing yourself to hit the snooze button several times, get up and get your day started. If you hit the snooze button it’s something you can’t control, then you may want to consider putting your alarm across the room so that you have to get up.
Hydrate
Drinking a big glass of water first thing when you wake up can make a world of difference in your well-being. Your body gets dehydrated. replenishing these fluids as soon as you wake up is a critical part of setting the tone for your day, so, even though your first instinct may be to eat your breakfast or drink your coffee, try to train yourself to drink a glass of water first.
Get Moving
Statistics show that people who engage in some form of movement right off the bat increase their likelihood of having a great day. Whether you decide to do some stretching, do a little yoga, or take a brisk walk, engaging in movement will increase your blood flow and consequently release endorphins. Endorphins are those little fellas that help improve your mood and boost your energy levels. Even just five to ten minutes of moderate exercise can make a significant impact on how well your day turns out. Not to mention, you can keep your weight in check, which is something most of us can agree is a good thing!
